Lettuce Green Oakleaf is popular Heirloom variety, grown for its striking rich red colour and its beautiful notched leaves, which are shaped like an oak leaf. The leaf form produces a dense bunch of leaves, which have a tender sweet flavour with good resistance to bolting.
Cultivation Advice Lettuce Green Oakleaf
Sow from late spring until autumn in drills or under cover from the last frost until winter.
When large enough to handle plant out ensuring at least 9 inches between plants.
Keep moist during dry weather.
Don’t pull the entire plant, keep harvesting leaves to encourage further tender growth.
