Cultivation Advice Tomatillo Pineapple Physalis Ixocarpa

Start undercover with warmth provided (65-70F) from 6 weeks prior to the last frost in your area..
Best sown on a well drained medium, a mix of compost
and vermiculite is ideal and lightly covered with the growing medium.
When large enough to handle seedlings can be pricked out into individual pots
and grown on at cooler temperatures.
In the UK the plants will need a well sheltered very sunny location to thrive outdoors.
Under glass will be fine.
Gradually harden off any plants that are being planted outdoors after all danger of frost has passed.
The fruits are ripe and ready to harvest when the fruit fills the calyx
and the husk bursts. Store the tomatillos in their husks in a cool, dry place for up to two weeks.
